Hammered Copper Coffee Filter

£75.00

Handmade in Vietnam, this copper filter is as beautiful to look at as it is to make coffee. Vietnamese coffee is brewed and served as a strong short cup of coffee – like the classic Italian espresso.

Each copper filter comes as four separate hammered copper pieces. The holding tray, the filter chamber, the filter press and the lid. The overall dimensions are filter chamber (62mm diameter x 60mm high, exc handle), holding tray ( 95mm diameter) and lid (76mm diameter, exc grip).

These drip coffee filters are made by variously abled artisans and the income provides them with the ability to support themselves and live independently.

HOW TO MAKE A FABULOUS CUP OF COFFEE!

 .

1

Start by pre-heating the filter and cup using hot water. Place one rounded tablespoon (20g) of fresh coarsely ground coffee into the filter chamber and shake to even out the coffee.

TIP: The perfect grind is probably just a little finer than for a french press (cafetière).

2

Place the filter press into the filter and spin a couple of times to flatten the coffee, enabling even brewing. .

 .

3

Place filter on the holding tray and pour a little hot water in to moisten the coffee. Wait 30 seconds. Fill the filter chamber 3/4 full (100ml) with hot water and place the lid on top.

4

Sit back, relax and watch your coffee brew for 4-5 minutes. Remove the lid and place the holding tray & filter on to the upturned lid. ENJOY!

Hot or cold milk (or soya) and sugar can be added to suit individual preferences or for a real taste of Vietnam, add condensed milk! It is also perfect cold – just add ice.

5

To care for your drip filter, simply clean with copper cleaning powder or with toothpaste… to keep it nice and bright!
